AAFS and Life Span to Discuss Family Law and Domestic Violence

Arab American Family Services will be meeting with representatives from Life Span, an organization that works with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, to discuss ways to combat domestic violence in the community. AAFS Immigration Workshop: Saturday, May 17

The Arab American Family Services immigration workshops have been proven to be a successful tool to educate those hoping to become United States citizens on the process of application, as well as knowing their rights. The past two workshops held in March and April drew over 135 attendees who were given free legal advice, as well as given an opportunity to apply for a fee waiver that would eliminate the $600 fee associated with the citizen application. AAFS to Host Immigration Workshop

Arab American Family Services will be hosting an Immigration Workshop on Saturday, April 26 at 9 a.m. at the Berwyn Police Department, 6401 W. 31st St. in Berwyn. At the workshop, there will be lawyers on hand to offer assistance in the N-400 citizen application as well as offering other services in relation to the immigration process. Arab American Family Services will be participating in National Arab American Service Day on Saturday, May 17. Everyone is encouraged to attend this rewarding day, which will be held at A Safe Haven, LLC on 2750 West Roosevelt Road in Chicago. Arab American Family Services will take part in a Syrian Refugee Fundraiser hosted at the St. Mark Lutheran Church on 11007 S. 76th Ave. in Worth, IL on Saturday, March 29 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The event is sponsored by St. Mark Lutheran Church, along with The Social Action Committee of the Beverly Unitarian Church and the Southsiders for Peace and Unity in Diversity.
