Get Empowered: Join the AAFS Youth Awareness Group

The Arab American Family Services (AAFS) Youth Awareness Group’s purpose is to create a safe environment for youth to be comfortable in discussing issues and to empower them to make informed decisions. Our goal is to educate and raise awareness to youth about different issues in order to empower them to lead happy and healthy lives.

We will have four separate groups within the larger group:

• Girls ages 10-13
• Boys ages 10-13
• Girls ages 14-17
• Boys ages 14-17

The groups will cover a variety of topics to over the next several weeks including sexual and reproductive health, teen pregnancy, bullying, family dynamics, prepping for the future, cultural/religious identity, relationships, mental health, gangs/drugs, peer pressure, domestic violence.

The group is for youth ages 10-17 and meets every Tuesday from 3:45-5pm at the Bridgeview Community Center at 7902 S Oketo Ave in Bridgeview, Illinois. For more information, please contact Linda Zayed at lzayed@aafsil.org or Sofia Benidettino at sbenidettino@aafsil.org.
