Join us to say #ResignBrannigan on January 8

In 2018, we stand firm by our #ResignBrannigan demand, and we will continue to protest her and her fellow trustees at every single meeting. Join us on Monday, January 8 from 6pm to 8pm at the Palos Township Office (10802 S Roberts Rd, Palos Hills, IL 60465) to once again demand Sharon Brannigan’s resignation from the Palos Township Board of Trustees.

Palos Township Trustee Sharon Brannigan’s role as a public servant came into question last year when she made the following anti-Muslim and anti-Middle Eastern statements on social media:

“In the 3rd district here in Illinois, our demographics include 25% Muslims of which very few integrate within the communities keeping themselves and their activities hidden from the general population … Everywhere you turn, from Orland Park to Bridgeview, those numbers are increasing in leaps and bounds. We are allowing these people whether they have peaceful intentions or not into our country without question.”

“What has Dan Lipinski done to stem the flow of Middle Eastern immigration into our beloved United States while we are at war with Islamic extremists? Nothing.”

“Watching President Trump and family this morning I am so proud that they represent us! Am particularly proud that our women are not wearing headscarves. WE AMERICAN WOMEN ARE BEING REPRESENTED WITH DIGNITY!”

Arab American Family Services (AAFS), along with an ever-growing coalition of community members and organizations, have been attending Palos Township Board of Trustees meetings to demand that Sharon Brannigan resign from her role as a public servant as she has displayed an inability to serve the Palos Township community due to her derogatory statements about Muslims and Middle Easterners.

Palos Township, which includes Bridgeview, Hickory Hills, Orland Park, Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Palos Park, Worth, and Willow Springs, have the largest Arab and Muslim communities in the state of Illinois.
