Seniors learn how to maintain good oral health at AAFS workshop

Arab American Family Services (AAFS) recently held an oral hygiene workshop for Seniors ages 60 and above at the Bridgeview Community Center which helped attendees learn how to maintain good dental health including preventative care. Elderly Department Case Manager, Najwa Saleh, organized the gathering and Frances Tourdot with Illumident, Inc presented the workshop. Ms. Tourdot, a respected dental hygienist and educator, is a pioneer in teaching older adults about the link between oral health and overall health, as well as the physical and financial benefits of simple, daily oral care. The participants learned several easy ways to maintain good oral health including brushing right before bed, flossing regularly, rinsing with mouthwash, avoiding teeth grinding, and of course, visiting your dentist regularly.
